Aquatic Rehabilitation Facility

Aquatic therapy is helpful for joint pain, balance concerns and recovering from surgery. Our warm therapy pool provides a low impact way to improve mobility and build strength.

Exercising in water helps alleviate some of the stress on your joints, which can reduce mobility pain. Patients can walk with support in the pool or perform exercises as directed by our therapists.

Our aquatic facility is separate from the therapy gym, which allows all pool users to feel more comfortable and focus on their individual session. The pool is temperature controlled and stays between 91-93 degrees Fahrenheit to provide an ideal pool environment for aquatic therapy.

Aquatic therapy has many benefits, including:

  • Patients can work out harder, longer and sooner than they would be able to with land-based exercise because the stress and weight bearing on their joints is dramatically decreased.
  • Because of the water’s extra resistance, muscles get stronger more quickly.

Hydrostatic forces give better feedback during exercise, which helps reduce inflammation and increase blood circulation. This promotes decreased joint stiffness and increased mobility.

Aquatic therapy can help patients with chronic pain or those recovering from injuries that compromise their ability to participate in weight-bearing activities, including:

  • Arthritis and other joint pain
  • Orthopedic injuries
  • Post-surgery rehabilitation
