Pharmacy Residency Program
Providence Holy Cross Medical Center’s residency program prepares a motivated, self-directed individual to become professionally competent with expanded clinical knowledge in pharmacy practice. Through a series of training modules, residents will enhance their clinical knowledge with practical experience in diverse, multidisciplinary settings.

Program features
PHCMC pharmacy resident is required to complete twelve (12) months of practice experiential rotations during the residency program. Rotation length may vary depending on the needs and interests of the resident. Additional rotations may be offered at affiliated institutions to meet specific skill needs and interests of each resident if approved by the program director and the Preceptor Committee. Team-based care
Providence pharmacists play an integral role in a variety of practice settings as part of Providence’s patient-centered care.
Professional networking
The program’s open, collaborative environment allows residents to share knowledge across Providence system organizations. Educational sessions enhance what’s learned within individual residency programs. Topics include personal and professional leadership opportunities, teaching skills, preceptor development, change management, project justification and legislative advocacy.
Qualification
- Applicants must be a graduate from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program.
- Resident must be licensed, or eligible for licensure, in the state of California.

PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
Residents qualify for Providence employee benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage with a variety of plans available and a flexible spending account.
