Providence St. Vincent receives 6th Magnet designation

I am extremely pleased to announce that Providence St. Vincent Medical Center has achieved Magnet recognition for the sixth consecutive time, reinforcing our commitment to nursing excellence and our patients in the community!

This redesignation makes Providence St. Vincent the 12th hospital in the world and the only one in the Providence system to obtain Magnet designation six times. 

Magnet recognition is the highest national honor for professional nursing practice. Providence St. Vincent first attained primary designation in 2000; we are a better medical center today because of that Magnet recognition we achieved 23 years ago. 

Our repeated designation underscores the foundation of excellence and values that drive all of our caregivers to strive harder each day to meet the health care needs of the Portland community. Achieving this status is not only a great accomplishment, but a source of pride for our nurses and every caregiver who works at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. 

Congratulations to each and every nurse and caregiver – we are fortunate to have an outstanding nursing team, and I could not be more proud of all that we have achieved!
