Providence supports Sleep in Heavenly Peace, ensuring children have a safe place to sleep

Providence Inland Northwest Washington has proudly partnered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a dedicated Spokane-based non-profit with a powerful mission: to ensure that no child in our community sleeps on the floor. In 2024, Providence allocated $5,000 to support Sleep in Heavenly Peace so its team of volunteers could build and deliver fully furnished twin-sized beds to local families in need.
The importance of having a comfortable and safe place to sleep for a child's well-being cannot be overstated. Many families facing poverty or other crises are unable to provide this necessity. At Sleep in Heavenly Peace, the belief is clear—every child deserves a good night’s sleep and the opportunity to succeed. This organization is steadfast in its commitment to making this a reality for as many children as possible, building beds for any child between the ages of 3-17 years old without a bed of their own. This program served 181 individuals in 2024.
"We have seen so many children laugh, cry, jump for joy, and exclaim, 'This comforter is my favorite color!' or 'Bluey! How did you know he was my favorite?'” recounts the Spokane chapter president, Mike.
“Deliveries are always our favorite part of the process. It’s very rewarding to be able to provide beds to children in a house that has none. As chapter presidents, my wife and I don’t take lightly the responsibility of ensuring that no kid sleeps on the floor in our town,” Mike says as he reflects witnessing countless happy children and parents as they receive a bed from Sleep in Heavenly Peace Inc.
