Neurosurgical Associates, LLP is a well-established neurosurgical practice in Lubbock, providing full neurosurgery coverage over the West Texas and Eastern New Mexico area for the past 12 years. The group provides diagnostic, trauma call coverage, and surgical services at Covenant Medical Center, Covenant Medical Center-Lakeside, Covenant SurgiCenter, Texas Tech University Health Science Center, and University Medical Center.

At the Covenant NeuroScience Institute, our goal is to provide the most comprehensive neurosurgery and neurology services in our region. Our team is uniquely qualified to treat head and spinal cord injuries as well as stroke, brain tumors, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) – also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease – muscular dystrophy, dementia, sleep conditions, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and a wide variety of neuromuscular disorders.
Headaches can have a devastating effect, interfering with both your work and home life. The Covenant NeuroScience Institute is committed to helping headache sufferers find relief from their symptoms. Therapies can involve medication, lifestyle changes, physical therapy and stress management techniques.

From neurostimulation, which works by sending electrical impulses to affected areas of the brain, to pallidotomy and thalamotomy procedures, which shut down electrical activity in key areas, the Covenant NeuroScience Institute provides all the latest therapeutic options.
The Parkinson’s Disease Information and Referral Center offers patients living with Parkinson’s educational materials, physician and service referrals, and information on support groups – as well as water therapy and exercise classes designed to help alleviate symptoms.
Before you can benefit from the advanced treatment we provide, you have to get a proper diagnosis. That’s why the Covenant Neuroscience Institute’s registered technologists work closely with staff neurologists to provide comprehensive evaluations of neurological disorders.
Tests used include:
- Electroencephalogram (EEG) – Diagnoses a number of disorders, including strokes, tumors, brain injuries and seizure disorders by recording the electrical activity of the brain
- Evoked Potentials (SSEP, BEAR and VER) – Identifies a number of neurological problems by measuring the brain’s response to signals sent by nerves
- Intra-Operative Monitoring – Helps neurosurgeons safeguard the nervous system during surgery by monitoring neuro-electric activity in the region
- Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) and Electromyography (EMG) – Tests for neuromuscular conditions, such as Lou Gehrig’s disease, Guillain-Barre syndrome and carpal tunnel syndrome, using electrodes and needle electrodes
Children with neurological problems deserve special treatment. And that’s just what they get at the Covenant NeuroScience Institute. Our team of pediatric neuroscience specialists works hand-in-hand with Covenant Children’s Hospital to ensure that children get the care they need to thrive in the hospital environment.

The Covenant NeuroScience Institute also works with the Joe Arrington Cancer Research and radiation oncology department to offer stereotactic radiosurgery for intracranial malignant and non-malignant tumors.
Using computer topography and magnetic resonance scans, our multi-disciplinary team can identify and administer high doses of radiation to precisely defined targets. This technique minimizes the radiation dose to the rest of the brain and spine and enables us to treat brain or upper spinal tumors that are inaccessible or unsuitable for surgery.
