Cardiac catheterization lab
In our cardiac catheterization lab, our experienced electrophysiologists and interventional cardiologists perform advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to treat common cardiac conditions. One example of these procedures is angioplasty, where a thin tube, or catheter, is used to widen a narrow or blocked artery. This minimally-invasive approach allows innovative solutions like the placement of a miniaturized, leadless pacemaker to treat atrial fibrillation.
Cardiac rehabilitation
This effective multi-phase program offers a carefully designed blend of exercise therapy, education and support to help you recover faster, reduce your future risk and give you more energy to participate in activities that you love. Our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team includes cardiologists, advance-practice cardiac nurses, exercise physiologists, educators and registered dietitians who each contribute their expertise to help you regain your health and improve your quality of life.
Cardiac surgery
We offer one of the state’s most sophisticated surgical settings, including a cutting-edge cardiovascular suite. This suite combines the diagnostic power of 4D imaging with both minimally invasive interventional procedures and traditional open-surgery techniques in the same procedure. The all-in-one, diagnosis-to-treatment suite incorporates numerous imaging modalities – from dynamic CT imaging to a biplane digital angiography system – to allow the successful treatment of complex or formerly inoperable conditions.

Providence St. Jude Medical Center Leads the Way with Pulsed Field Ablation
Providence St. Jude Medical Center is one of the first hospitals in California to provide pulsed field ablation (PFA), a new treatment for atrial fibrillation (AFib). This minimally invasive treatment uses electrical impulses to destroy the damaged heart cells that cause AFib, an irregular heartbeat that can lead to stroke or heart failure.
Our cardiologists view PFA as a truly groundbreaking procedure because it’s safer, much quicker and more effective for our patients than current ablation treatments.
