In 2025, Providence St. Patrick Hospital was, once again, honored nationally with The Top 25 Environmental Excellence awards:
The Top 25 Award: This award honors performance in sustainability programs including leadership, waste, chemicals, greening the operating room, food, sustainable procurement, energy, water, climate, transportation, and green building. As Practice Greenhealth’s highest honor, this award recognizes the best of the best in health care environmental sustainability.
The Circle of Excellence Awards celebrate hospitals who not only earn an award for all around sustainability achievement, but who have also been identified as the top scoring programs for each category of sustainability:
· Waste
· Greening the Operating Room
· Energy
· Climate
Providence St. Joseph Medical Center won the Emerald Award for the top 20 percent of applicants and is focused on advanced sustainability programs and exemplary scores in a range of categories.
“Our vision of health for a better world and our environmental goals aren’t possible unless all of us work together toward them,” Providence Chief Environmental Stewardship Office Beth Schenk said. "I’m extremely thankful for their commitment; it makes our work that much easier with so many people joining us.”
