Convenience is often a big factor for someone when they utilize our virtual care services. If you or a loved one aren’t feeling well, even getting dressed to go to an in-person appointment can seem daunting.

Virtual visits help ease the way for patients throughout Alaska. These appointments provide the convenience and accessibility of being able to receive care for minor health concerns in the comfort of your home via your smartphone, tablet or computer.

Please be aware, in-person care visits may be required for appointments that need a physical exam, diagnostic testing, or any treatments that require direct contact, like immunizations.

It’s possible. If you’re a resident of one of the following states where Providence operates, you can use our virtual care services.

Providence operates in the following states: Alaska, California, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Washington.

If you aren’t a resident in one of those states, then you might not be able to use our virtual care services.

Absolutely, our virtual care services are specifically designed to be as accessible as possible. This allows us to provide care to more remote areas.

You will need an Internet connection and a device such as a smartphone, tablet or computer to connect to your virtual appointment.

We have licensed Providence clinicians in Alaska, California, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Washington. If you’re traveling in one of those states, you can use any of our virtual care options.

Certain states may have restrictions about which clinicians you can see, and if you’ll be able to see the clinician that you normally would back home.

Your clinician will direct you to a nearby location that can help with the X-ray or other procedures that you might need.

If there is a specific city or neighborhood you prefer, please let your clinician know.

While our virtual care services can be used for many minor medical conditions, they aren’t intended for any appointments that may need a physical examination, which a frostbite consultation might require.

For a medical condition such as this, we might recommend you schedule an in-person appointment.

If this is an emergency, please call 911 or go to an emergency room.
